Do you have working fires on display?

I want a gas fire but I do not have a chimney, is this still possible?

Yes, you have the option of having a balanced or power flue fire fitted, where the flue for the fire goes directly through the wall, or a flueless fire with a catalytic converter fitted.

Can we still have a back boiler installed?

Part L regulations on emissions brought in April 2005 make it almost impossible to install any low efficiency boilers including back boilers. If you currently have a working back boiler system this is fine to continue using however when your current system breaks down it will be necessary to convert your system to a wall or floor standing high efficiency boiler.

How often should I have my boiler serviced?

Your boiler should be serviced once a year. Remember, your boiler is used more than any other household appliance so must be maintained. Regular servicing can help extend the life of the boiler.

How will I know if my boiler is due a service?

If your boiler has already been serviced by ourselves, we will send you a reminder letter when your next service is due. Otherwise, check the logbook for the boiler which should be completed each time a service is carried out.

What if there is a problem with my heating?

We operate a 24 hour emergency call out service for all work under our guarantee. If the problem is on work that we have not carried out we can often provide a very quick and efficient response time.

What is a condensing boiler?

A condensing boiler is a high efficiency boiler that reduces the levels of carbon dioxide emitted. They are all between 86%-93% efficient and do this by reducing the amount of heat lost through the flue. The name ‘condensing’ refers to the water vapour that is collected from the flue gases as a result of the improved efficiency.

What are the cost benefits of fitting a new condensing boiler?

Condensing boilers can be as high as 93% efficient where as non-condensing boilers can be only 50%-60% efficient or less if the system is particularly old. This means that in order to maintain the same output your fuel bills could be almost halved.

Should my system be flushed with a cleaning agent when I have a new boiler installed?

Heating systems can often build up with sludge overtime. Prior to installing a new appliance to a system it is always recommended that your current system is cleaned thoroughly by flushing through a cleaning agent. This prevents your new appliance from deteriorating quickly due to the quality of the system water. Once your new appliance is fitted we will add an inhibitor to the system water to help prevent the system water from deteriorating again.
